{"id":594,"date":"2025-09-19T10:21:01","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T16:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thehallslonghaul.com\/?p=594"},"modified":"2025-09-19T10:21:01","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T16:21:01","slug":"the-big-c-day-8-still","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thehallslonghaul.com\/?p=594","title":{"rendered":"The Big C &#8211; Day 8 &#8211; Still???"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day 8, and I\u2019m STILL in the hospital. \u00a0I feel good, (except in one area which isn\u2019t working yet), but I\u2019m bored, lonely, depressed, sad and a little&#8230; just a little&#8230; scared.<\/p>\n<p>The social worker came in to talk to me today. \u00a0She wanted to help set up an appointment with Home Care to get my staples out, and find out if I had someone to \u2018look after me\u2019 at home.<\/p>\n<p>Well&#8230; #1. \u00a0We don\u2019t really have a home, and # 2. \u00a0I\u2019m perfectly capable of looking after myself, but I DO have fantastic friends and family to support me and an incredible husband to help me if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Waa waa waa&#8230;. there\u2019s just a little self-pity there, isn\u2019t there? \u00a0I KNOW that I\u2019m lucky. I KNOW that there are so many people who have it so much worse in so many areas. \u00a0I know I\u2019ve said this before &#8211; I have friends, family, a home (even if we can\u2019t stay in it right now). \u00a0I had a tough, but well-paying job with a good pension and good benefits.
